First update from Davis

Sorry for trailing off a bunch of times guys, I've been out of it all day. Not getting the proper amount of sleep and studying all day does that to me. Hope you're all doing awesome! I think the general feeling is that sophomore year is better than freshman year. :)

I need to get out more, guys...

I've been wanting to get pictures developed for a while, but I haven't been able to remember or pick my favorites. If you have any pictures of Clifford or you and I, will you send them to me or link me to them so I can get originals and then develop them? I want to decorate my wall with all of your beautiful faces! :D

Here we go again

Year 2 begins! I miss you guys already, no matter how recent or long ago I've seen you all!
I have to say, I think I've gotten to see you guys more often this summer than I did last summer, which is awesome! I hope next summer we see each other even more!

Stranger danger!

It's been a while since I've posted on here. Sorry about that. I would post a video blog but Jaime is sleeping, haha.

I've been extremely MIA on skype, too. Ah! So much fail. But I've been taking control of my school work and meditation is helping me handle everything that's happening right now. My last day of my freshman year of college is May 19th - it sounds far away, but it really isn't. There are so many papers and trips and laughs and anxieties and enjoyment between today and that day. It's crazy to think about.

I'm thinking about getting a job as a communication/tech person for CILSA next year. It fits really well, and I love CILSA as a whole; when I volunteered at the youth shelter, I was in good company with two very nice and pleasant ladies who are Bonner leaders.

Also: I've had the growing urge to take on ethnic studies as an additional minor (my other being French) or maybe a split or double major if SMC decides to upgrade. Luckily, my advisor is on the board for the ethnic studies program so she might be able to pull a few strings. She is a wonderful human being, like many of the faculty here on campus.

The (SUP)port Justice club is looking so good right now. I think I want to start doing things at the Peace Pole weekly or monthly... I should probably bring it up at the next club meeting. We made a very nice flag for Egypt and I can't wait to see what else we'll be doing. I love the club, I love my hallmates in the club, I love everyone I am getting to know in the club. Beautiful, involved, and excited people. That's what I like to see.

And to top it all off, the suite for next year is looking set. Life is alright. I'm going to Expressions of Blackness tonight and I am going to enjoy myself. I think after all of the future planning and extracurriculars, we always need to take time out to enjoy ourselves. Do it!

Weekend Summary

Sorry my laptop was being weird and cuts out and then the audio and video don't match up sometimes, I don't know what's going on with my computer today...

Anyway, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! I know I had one. I can't wait for future plans at Cal/St. Mary's. I need to put Santa Cruz on that list also. I really do want to visit, especially when it gets warmer so we can go to the beach because I look extremely pale according to Vicki... Please let me know if you agree, cause I seriously cannot tell. I'm not outside a lot like I was when we were in high school! I might start studying or reading outside now. Anyway, there's probably like half an hour before Jackie and Romer get back from mass, so I should get dressed... Today is a casual dress kind of day.

I can't wait to go home, but this weekend was an awesome first weekend back to school and a great way to start off the year. Sorry if I'm taking up so much of your time. This blog and the video itself are pretty much the longest entries I've done, but I've had an eventful weekend that needs to be told somewhere.

Hope you guys are good and keeping warm! And I want to see some more people come to Davis, I would love to do a group snowboarding trip if I can find a decently priced shuttle that goes to a decently priced ski resort. I think it'd be awesome. :)

Campus-wide blackout

Last night we had a campus-wide blackout while I was stuck in the stoody with some people... ahhhh!

Friday? Friday!

When I said "I don't have anything else I can say in this blog" I really meant "I don't have anything else I can say on camera." I always have something to say on this blog, haha.

I have decided I will always do laundry on some sort of weekday. There's less embarrassment involved. The last time I did laundry I couldn't reach all my clothes in the dryer and I had to ask Alex for help. I really hoped there was no underwear in there and lo and behold, it was a couple towels and then (dun dun dun) brightly colored underwear! Agh.

He was nice about it, but still. I'd rather stand on a chair than have someone else grab my patterned underwear for me.

Too much to do

So it's 1 in the morning and I just finished my calc homework. I have an exam this Thursday (yes for calc agh shoot me now) and I don't feel ready at all. Anjelica is in our room drinking black tea as we try to get ready for the school week by finishing our homework at the lastlast minute.

Ello!

Welp, tomorrow's the day!..or today? since its 1am -_- Packing sucks! Haha, every time I look at the pile of things I need to pack, it always appears to double in size. D: Just starting to pack the night before move-in day was definitely not a good idea; everyone, including mi madre, warned me not to, but procrastination always gets the best of me. :( Lol! I can already hear the "I told you so!"s. Princess wasn't too happy about my procrastination, so I received my well deserved lecture. Teehee. Well, my mom's kind of glaring at me, because I'm pretty much procrastinating on packing again, so I'll end it here. I really am going to miss all of you! I've been truly privileged, not to mention extremely thankful, to know such a lovely group of people. I tremendously value the friendships that I have with each and every one of you. :) It's pretty funny how I've only just recently met some of you, yet I feel like I've known you for years! I love all of you guys, and I wish you guys the best of luck with everything! <3
